Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02, Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the flange bolts.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Remove and discard the rear muffler gasket.
    Remove the rear muffler.

Installation
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The hanger insulators are constructed from a special material. Use only the correct specification insulators.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Check the hanger insulator for damage and fatigue. Install a new hanger as required.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:When installing hanger insulators, use lubricant meeting Ford specification.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Install a new rear muffler gasket.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
