Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Throttle Body
REMOVAL
1.
Remove the throttle linkage shield, and disconnect he throttle linkage, cruise control and kickdown cable. Unbolt the accelerator cable from the
bracket and position out of the way.
2.
Disconnect the wire connectors at the throttle position sensor and the air bypass valve.
3.
Loosen the clamp and disconnect he air intake hose from the throttle body.
4.
Disconnect the hoses for the PCV system.
5.
Remove the four bolts securing the throttle body to the upper intake manifold, and remove the throttle body.
INSTALLATION
1.
Position the throttle and gasket to the upper intake manifold, and hand start all four bolts. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS.
2.
Connect the hoses for the PCV system.
3.
Connect the air intake hose for the throttle body and tighten the clamp.
4.
Connect the wire connectors at the throttle position sensor and the air bypass valve.
5.
Connect the throttle linkage, cruise control and kickdown cable. Bolt the accelerator cable to the bracket. Install the throttle linkage shield.
