Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair
Right Side

REMOVAL

1. Remove heater hose support bracket.
2. Disconnect heater water hoses.
3. Remove manifold-to-exhaust inlet pipe attaching nuts.
4. Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts. Remove exhaust manifold.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean mating surfaces on the exhaust manifold, cylinder head and exhaust inlet pipe. 

NOTE:  Lightly oil all bolt and stud threads before installation.

2. Position exhaust manifold on the cylinder head and install manifold attaching bolts. Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).  
3. Connect exhaust inlet pipe to the exhaust manifold. Tighten the attaching nuts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).  
4. Install heater hose support bracket.
5. Connect heater water hose.
6. Fill and bleed cooling system.
7. Start engine and check for exhaust and coolant leaks.
