Removal and Installation
WARNING: Do not use any fluid other than clean brake fluid meeting manufacturer's specification. Additionally, do not use brake fluid that
has been previously drained. Following these instructions will help prevent system contamination, brake component damage and the risk of
serious personal injury.

CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash
it with water.
1. Disconnect the brake fluid level warning switch electrical connector.
2. CAUTION: The vacuum must be relieved in the brake booster before the master cylinder is removed. Failure to relieve the vacuum will
result in the O-ring being drawn into the brake booster.
NOTE: If the O-ring is drawn into the brake booster and cannot be recovered, a new brake booster must be installed.
Remove the check valve from the brake booster to relieve the vacuum.
3. Disconnect the wiring retainer clip from the brake booster stud.
4. Disconnect the 2 brake tube fittings.

Plug the tubes and the brake master cylinder ports.

To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
5. Remove the 2 brake master cylinder nuts and the brake master cylinder.

To install, tighten to 18 Nm (13 lb-ft).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Bleed the master cylinder before installation.
