Removal and Installation
1. Remove the 8 screws and the tailgate access cover.

To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
2. Open the tailgate latch actuating rod retainers and disconnect the tailgate latch actuating rods from the tailgate latch remote control.
3. Remove the 2 tailgate latch remote control nuts.

To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
4. Remove the tailgate latch remote control.
5. NOTE: Prior to installation, remove the slack in the tailgate latch release links by pulling the tailgate latch release links to the center of the tailgate
. Close the plastic clip over the thread of the tailgate latch release links.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
