CALIBRATION: 3-41S-R18
FIGURE 37
Vehicles with the subject calibration may experience stumbles and/or stall conditions during the cold drive mode. To resolve this concern, perform the
following:
Check engine ignition timing and idle speeds. If they are not to specification, change as required. With engine idle and timing set to specification, change
the choke setting from one notch rich to two notches rich by removing the grey index plate and replacing it with a yellow index plate E3PZ-9A539-A.
Refer to the Ranger Shop Manual, page 24-07-6, Figure 37 for index plate removal and installation procedures.
Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to
the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it
with a clear plastic decal shield.
