Crankshaft Seal Retainer: Service and Repair
Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal with Retainer Plate
Special Tool(s)
Removal
1. Remove the flywheel or flexplate.
2. Remove the bolts and the crankshaft rear oil seal.
Installation
1. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal on the Crankshaft Rear Main Oil Seal Installer.
2. Install the Crankshaft Rear Main Oil Seal Installer and the crankshaft rear oil seal on the crankshaft.

Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
3. Remove the Crankshaft Rear Main Oil Seal Installer.
4. Install the flywheel or flexplate.
