7. NOTE: If the vehicle was not equipped with a fluid filter, install a fluid filter kit. Follow the instructions supplied in the kit. If the vehicle was
equipped with a filter, install a new filter.
Install a new in-line transmission fluid filter kit or filter.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Apply the park brake, and start the engine.
10. NOTE: When filling a dry transmission and converter, start with a minimum of 3.7 liters (4 quarts).
Fill transmission with clean automatic transmission fluid to the correct fluid level and check for correct transmission operation.
11. Move the range selector lever through all the gears.
12. Recheck the transmission fluid level.
