Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
Installation

Brake Components
1. Clean the ledge pads on the backing plate. Sand lightly to bare metal.
2. Apply a light coating of caliper slide grease at the points where the brake shoes touch the backing plate.
3. Before installing the rear brake shoes, assemble the parking brake lever on the secondary shoe and secure with the spring washer and retaining
clip.

4. Position the brake shoes on the backing plate, and install the hold-down spring pins, springs, and cups using a hold down spring tool. Install the
parking brake link, spring, and washer. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.
