NOISE - SHIFT LEVER "BUZZ" IN THIRD, FOURTH OR FIFTH GEAR - MITSUBISHI FIVE SPEED

LIGHT TRUCK:

1988 RANGER, BRONCO II

ISSUE:

A "buzzing "noise heard inside the passenger compartment while driving in third, fourth or fifth gear may be caused by the gear shift lever.
The gear shift lever damping material may be inadequate to prevent the "buzzing" noise.

ACTION:

Install a new design gear shift lever that has improved damping material. Refer to the 1988 Ranger/Bronco 11 Shop Manual, Section
16-18-6 for removal and installation procedures.

NOTE:

INSTALL A NEW SHIFT LEVER BALL ASSEMBLY IF REQUIRED.
