Wiper Motor: Service and Repair
Rear Wiper Motor

REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable (two ground cables on diesel engines).

2.

Remove wiper arm and blade assembly.

3.

Remove pivot shaft attaching nut, washer and gasket.

4.

Remove liftgate inner trim panel, then the motor bracket attaching screw and rectangular plate.

5.

Disconnect motor electrical connector and disengage wiring locator pins, then remove motor assembly. 

INSTALLATION

1.

Position motor in liftgate and loosely install rectangular plate and attaching screw. Do not tighten at this time.

2.

Install gasket, washer and nut, then torque nut to 60-69 inch lbs.

3.

Torque rectangular bracket attaching screw to 5-6 ft. lbs.

4.

Connect motor electrical connector and install wiring locator pins.

5.

Install wiper arm and blade assembly, then connect battery ground cable (two ground cables on diesel engines), and check for proper operation of
wiper.

6.

Install liftgate inner trim panel.
