ISSUE:
There may be a no start or no crank condition caused by a discharged battery. This may be caused by the heater fan circuit. If the fan is "ON" when the
key is turned "OFF", it may cause the regulator to leave the generator energized even with the key "OFF".
ACTION:
Install a service jumper harness kit in the cluster wiring harness to prevent the generator from being energized with the key "OFF". Refer to Instruction
Sheet # 6528 (included with the service kit) for installation details.
The Service Jumper Harness Kit (F47Z-14A411-A) includes the following components:
^
Two (2) - Heat Shrink Tubings
^
Two (2) - Wire Assemblies - Pigtail - 16 Gauge Leads (200 mm length with 20 mm stripped ends and terminal)
^
One (1) 63/37 Tin/Lead Solder, 100 mm Long
