FRONT SEAT - DRIVER'S 60/40 SPLIT BENCH - POOR OR NO FORE/AFT ADJUSTMENT - SUPERCAB MODELS BUILT THROUGH 7/93

LIGHT TRUCK:
1991-93 RANGER

ISSUE:
Some vehicles may exhibit the front seat being difficult to adjust and may eventually lead to no seat adjustment at all. This could be caused by the sliding
collar of the front seat belt buckle support assembly (slide bar) rotating and not allowing the seat to glide freely on the seat tracks.

ACTION:
Replace the front seat belt support bracket or the slide bar. Refer to the following, for proper service procedures.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the front seat from the vehicle as follows:

a.

Remove the plastic seat track covers from the seat tracks.

b.

Remove the four (4) seat track-to-floor retaining bolts.

c.

Remove the Torx bolt behind the cover retaining the rear part of the slide bar assembly to the floor.

d.

Disconnect the electrical connector for the seat belt buckle switch.

e.

Lift the complete seat assembly from the vehicle and place upside down on a clean and protected surface.
