Accessory Drive Belt Idler Pulley

Removal and Installation

Vehicles equipped with a 4.0L SOHC engine

1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

All vehicles

2. Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner counterclockwise and remove the accessory drive belt.

3. Remove the belt idler pulley assembly.

-

To install, tighten the 2.3L belt idler pulley assembly to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

-

To install, tighten the 4.0L belt idler pulley assembly to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
