  1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12A Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.0L Duratec-HE (MI4)/2.3L Duratec-HE (MI4), Removal and Installation).
    Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12C Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

LHD Vehicles
  1. Refer to: Battery (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).

  1. Torque: 10 Nm
Right-hand drive vehicles
  1. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
All vehicles
  1. Extract brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir until the level reaches the MIN mark.

  1. Torque: 28 Nm
Right-hand drive vehicles
LHD Vehicles

  1. Special Tool(s): 308-651
All vehicles
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that all openings are sealed.

  1. Torque: 28 Nm

  1. Special Tool(s): 308-554

Installation
  1. Coat the clutch master cylinder gaiter with grease before installing.
    Material: Grease
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Refer to: Clutch System Bleeding (308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and Clutch - General Information, General Procedures).
  1. Refer to: Door Window Motor Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).
