Repair parts - Upper A-pillar reinforcement

General Notes - The fenders are removed before starting the repairs.
- Required removal operations: Windshield, doors, weatherstrips, convertible top seals on roof front frame, hood with hinges, crash padding, A-pillar trim panel, rocker panel trim and driver or passenger seat.
- Move carpets and wiring out of the working area.

NOTE:Partial replacement of the roof front frame may be possible depending on the extent of the damage. Sectional repairs - Roof front frame (side section).
- Roof front frame (side and upper sections).

NOTE:If a complete new roof frame is installed, the individual operations described for the left-hand side of the vehicle must be repeated on the right-hand side. Roof frame side section (view from above) - Mill out the spot welds.
- Grind out the weld seams.

Roof frame side section (view from inside) - Mill out the spot welds.
- Mill out the spot welds (from above and below).
- Grind out the weld seams.
| Installation NOTE:Before resistance spot welding of body panels with a total panel thickness of 3 mm and greater, the welding equipment instructions contained in sub-section 501-25A must be followed. | -

- In order to check dimensional accuracy, the exact fit of the convertible top, the doors and the windshield must be checked.
- If a complete new roof frame is installed, the individual operations described for the left-hand side of the vehicle must be repeated on the right-hand side.
Roof frame side section (view from above) - Resistance spot weld.
- Intermittent MIG weld.
