1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system into suitable container.
2.
Remove accelerator cable, then the air cleaner assembly and heat stove tube at heat shield.
3.
Identify, then remove necessary vacuum lines.
4.
Remove Thermactor belt, hose and pump assembly.
5.
Remove exhaust pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts, then the manifold heat shroud.
6.
Disconnect Exhaust Gas Oxygen (EGO) sensor wire connector.
7.
Disconnect Thermactor check valve hose at tube assembly, then remove bracket-to-EGR valve attaching nuts.
8.
Disconnect water inlet hose at intake manifold, then the EGR tube at EGR valve.
9.
Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold and gasket.
10.
Remove exhaust manifold attaching bolts, then the exhaust manifold.
11.
Reverse procedure to install. Refer to Engine Tightening Specifications for torque values and Figs. 3 and 4,for tightening sequence.
