Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair
Spring Lock Coupling
CAUTION: Fuel lines will maintain high pressures for extended periods of time. Always perform Fuel Pressure Relief procedure prior to removing a
fuel line coupler.
REMOVAL

Twist the fitting to free it from any adhesion at the O-ring seals.

Fit correct size Spring Lock Coupling Tool to the coupling.

Close the tool and push it into the open s9de of the cage to expand the garter spring and release the female fitting.
Disconnect Tool

After the garter spring is expanded, pull the fittings apart.

Remove the tool from the disconnected coupling.
INSTALLATION

Be sure the garter spring is in the cage of the male fitting. If the garter spring is missing, install a new spring by pushing it into the cage opening. If
the garter spring is damaged, remove it from the cage with a small wire hook (do not use a screwdriver) and install a new spring.

Clean all dirt or foreign material from both pieces of the coupling.
