Taurus V6-182 3.0L DOHC SHO (1992)
Inspect the coolant recovery bottle. Refer to Figure 1.
If the recovery bottle has only 1 clamp, a black constant tension hose clamp with 3 tabs on the lower hose nipple and no clamp on the overflow nipple,
the recovery bottle is OK. No further action is required. Release the car.
If the recovery bottle has 2 crimp type clamps at the locations shown in Figure 1, replace the recovery bottle as described below.
REPLACEMENT
1.
Remove the two screws securing the coolant recovery bottle to the radiator support.
2.
Detach the rubber overflow tube at the radiator filler neck.
3.
Remove the recovery bottle from the car. Transfer the antifreeze to the new coolant recovery bottle.
4.
Position the new coolant recovery bottle to the radiator support and install the two retaining screws. Tighten the screws to 7 N-m (5 lb.ft.). Be sure
tab at bottom of recovery bottle is inserted in lower radiator support slot.
