Water Pump: Service and Repair
1.
Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2.
Drain cooling system, then disconnect battery cable.
3.
Remove battery and battery tray, then drive belt and accessory belts.
4.
Remove attaching bolts, retaining A/C, alternator idler pulley and bracket.
5.
Disconnect electrical connector from ignition module and ground strap.
6.
Loosen four clamps on upper intake connector tube, then remove two retaining bolts.
7.
Remove upper intake connector tube.
8.
Remove RH tire and wheel assembly and splash panel.
9.
Remove upper timing belt cover, then the crankshaft pulley.
10.
Remove lower timing belt cover.
11.
Remove attaching bolts from center timing belt cover and position aside.
12.
Remove water pump attaching bolts, then the pump.
13.
Reverse procedure to install.
