ISSUE:
A "clunk" or "rattle" may be heard from the rear of the vehicle when going over bumps or potholes. This may be caused by movement of the rear tension
strut in the body attachment bracket.
ACTION:
Using a torque wrench, hand tighten the body attaching fastener to 115 N-m (85 lb.ft.), Figure 1. The increased clamp load on the bushing inner sleeve
prevents movement, eliminating the noise.
NOTE:
FASTENER PART NUMBERS ARE INCLUDED FOR CONVENIENCE OF REFERENCE. TIGHTEN THE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED
FASTENERS. DO NOT REPLACE PARTS UNLESS REQUIRED.
