Differential: Service and Repair
Differential Fluid Seals
With AX4N Transmission
REMOVAL
1. Raise and suitably support vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove front tire and wheel assemblies.
3. Remove both halfshafts from vehicle.
4. Install Front Cover Seal Remover T74P-6700-A and 5-1/2-inch forcing screw (from Crankshaft Seal Replacer/Cover Aligner T88T-6701-A) into
LH differential seal.
5. Screw the Front Cover Seal Remover T74P-6700-A and forcing screw into the outer metal protector using a one-inch box wrench.
NOTE: The differential fluid seal is a two-piece seal constructed of an outer metal protector and inner rubber seal.
