ISSUE:
Intermittent or inoperative sound from the radio speakers may be caused by the power/ audio cable for the JBL amplifier chafing and
shorting out against the amplifier "L" shaped mounting bracket. This could cause fuse link "E" and fuse # 11 to blow. This condition can
also cause the power antenna to become inoperative.
ACTION:
Re-route the JBL power/audio cable to the outside of the JBL amplifier "L" shape mounting bracket. Refer to the following procedure
for service details.

1.
Remove the rear seat back and finer.
2.
Disconnect the power/audio cable as follows:

Unplug the cable connectors from the amplifier

Disconnect the ground wire
^
Remove the cable locator from the sheet metal
3.
Inspect the power/audio cable for cuts or signs of chafing. Repair as required.
4.
Re-route the power/audio cable to the outside of the "L" bracket as shown in Figure 1.
5.
Re-connect the power/audio cable and ground wire.
6.
Check fuse link "E" and fuse # 11 (20 amp) which provide power for the radio, JBL amplifier and power antenna. Replace as necessary.
7.
Check radio operation.
