Subject vehicles equipped with all-electronic radio and premium sound option built prior to June 1, 1983, may exhibit intermittent or totally inoperative
sound boost to the front speakers due to an internal radio shown.
Prior to preforming normal premium sound system diagnosis (Shop Manual Section 35-01) on the subject vehicles, it is recommended that the service
technician check circuit 747, at the radio connector, for a shorted condition, using the following procedure:

Verify condition (radio and premium sound "on" with the ignition switch in the "ACCY" position.
