1985 Models Only

1.

Drill a 1/8 inch hole in right front splash shield near base of strut tower, Figure 24. Install relay (E3TZ-9345-A) with a suitable screw.

NOTE:

Relay connector should be positioned facing inboard.

Disconnect the GRAY clutch harness two-wire connector at rear of alternator, Figure 27. Insert the two (2) mating gray connectors of E53Z-
19B573-A jumper harness between disconnected connectors. Then, route jumper wire along the 14290 harness (leading to alternator) to relay.
Tape jumper harness to alternator harness as necessary.

Connect jumper harness GREEN connector to relay, E3TZ-9345-A.

Route service clutch coil lead (19B573) along right fender to dash panel and across dash panel to starter motor relay on left fender splash shield.
Secure lead wire with existing wire clips along dash panel.
