This article outlines a procedure to service a rattle or clunk noise in the front suspension during rough road operation. The noise may be caused by an
interference between the first and second coils of the front springs. This condition is serviced by installing front spring insulators on each side of the
vehicle using the following procedure:
1.
Raise the front of the vehicle so that the front tires are in the full rebound position (down).
2.
Clean foreign material from the lower two (2) coils of each front spring.
3.
Uniformly wrap the rubber insulator (part number E43Z-5414-A) around the second coil from the bottom of the spring.
