Ford Thunderbird workshop manuals
Ford Thunderbird at a glance: 8 manuals, covering 1982 to 2002 models, with engines from 2.3 to 5.0 litres.
About the Thunderbird
The Thunderbird ran from 1955 to 2005, starting as a two-seat convertible and growing into Ford's personal luxury car, with a break from 1998 to 2001. These manuals cover four generations: the boxy Fox-platform car of 1980–1982, the aerodynamic 1983–1988 model, the 1989–1997 car on the new MN12 platform with independent rear suspension, and the retro two-seat convertible of 2002–2005.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1988: the 3.8-litre V6, the 5.0-litre V8, and the 2.3-litre turbo four of the Turbo Coupe.
- 1989–1997: the 3.8 V6 and the supercharged 3.8 of the Super Coupe, the 5.0 V8, and from 1994 the 4.6-litre Modular V8 that replaced it.
- 2002: the two-seater with a Jaguar-designed 3.9-litre V8.
Tip: the 2002–2005 Thunderbird shares its platform, its 3.9 V8 and some interior parts with the Lincoln LS.
