Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Testing and Inspection
Throttle Valve Cable Diagnosis - With AOD
Transmission Lever Stuck In Wide 0pen or Part Throttle Position
TRANSMISSION LEVER STUCK IN WIDE 0PEN OR PART THROTTLE POSITION
1. Delayed and harsh upshifts, particularly at light to moderate acceleration.
2. Harsh idle engagement.
TV Control Cable Broken or Disconnected at Throttle Body
TV CONTROL CABLE BROKEN OR DISCONNECTED AT THROTTLE BODY
1. Excessively early and/or soft upshifts.
2. Harsh light throttle shift into and out of overdrive.
3. No forced downshift at proper speeds.
TV Control Cable Disconnected at Transmission
TV CONTROL CABLE DISCONNECTED AT TRANSMISSION
1. Delayed and harsh upshifts, particularly at light to moderate acceleration.
2. Harsh idle engagement.
TV Control Cable Improperly Attached at One End
TV CONTROL CABLE IMPROPERLY ATTACHED AT ONE END
1. Clunking when throttle is backed off after full or heavy throttle acceleration.
2. Harsh coasting downshifts out of overdrive.
TV Control Cable Not Locked
TV CONTROL CABLE NOT LOCKED
1. Clunking when throttle is backed off after full or heavy throttle acceleration.
2. Harsh coasting downshifts out of overdrive.
TV Control Cable Set Too Long
TV CONTROL CABLE SET TOO LONG
1. Excessively early and/or soft upshifts.
2. Harsh light throttle shift into and out of overdrive.
3. No forced downshift at proper speeds.
TV Control Cable Set Too Short
TV CONTROL CABLE SET TOO SHORT
1. Clunking when throttle is backed off after full or heavy throttle acceleration.
