ISSUE:
A "popping" noise or excessive audio distortion (crackling) may occur in the right hand speakers at maximum bass and high volume. This
distortion is not evident if the bass control is decreased to about the 1 o'clock position. The "popping" noise may occur when actuating the
CD player controls, except fast forward (FF) and rewind (REW) of the cassette. These conditions are caused by an internal capacitor in the
processor loop circuitry.
ACTION:
If one or both conditions exist, service by returning the radio assembly to the Authorized Ford Service Center for repair per Audio Service
Bulletin # AR-22-91.
Radios involved have engineering part numbers - F2EF-19B165-AB, F20F-19B165-CA and F2SF-19B165-CA with date codes 9129 through 9141.
