Antilock Pressure Switch: Service and Repair
Pressure Switch, Anti-Lock Brake System
Before removing pressure warning switch, ensure hydraulic system pressure is completely discharged. Whenever the pressure warning
switch assembly is replaced, the pump motor relay assembly should also be replaced.
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Disconnect electrical connector from pressure warning switch. It may be necessary to remove the lefthand front tie-rod at the steering
knuckle to gain access to the switch.
4.
Using socket tool T85P-20215-B, or equivalent, 1/2 to 3/8 inch adapter and a 3/8 inch ratchet, remove pressure warning switch.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque pressure warning switch to 15-25 ft. lbs.
