Removal and Installation Removal CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water. | -
Release the parking brake. | | -
Remove the wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation). | | -
Remove the brake drum. - Remove and discard the retainer (if equipped).

Hold the wheel cylinder pistons in place with a rubber band. | | -
Remove the hold down springs. | | -
CAUTION:Do not damage the wheel cylinder boots. Detach the brake shoes from the wheel cylinder. | | -
CAUTION:Cap the brake tube to prevent fluid loss and dirt ingress. Remove the wheel cylinder. - Remove the bleed nipple dust cap.
- Disconnect the brake tube.
- Remove the bolts.

To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | -

Depress the brake pedal to adjust the brake shoes. | | |
