Power Steering - Power Steering Pump to Steering Gear Pressure Line—2.0L Duratorq-Di (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDCi (Puma) Diesel/2.0L Duratorq-TDDi (Puma) Diesel Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  303-01A Engine / 303-01B Engine / 303-01C Engine.

  1. Disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Disconnect the power steering line from the power steering gear.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Rotate the clamp plate.
    1. Detach the lines from the front axle crossmember.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
  1. Remove the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line.

Installation
  1. Install a new power steering line to power steering pump union.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure the power steering line is correctly located in the valve body.
    Connect the power steering line to the power steering gear.
    1. Rotate the clamp plate.
    1. Install the bolt.
    1. Attach the lines to the front axle crossmember.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Connect the power steering line to the power steering pump.
  1. Install the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  303-01A Engine / 303-01B Engine / 303-01C Engine.
  1. Fill and bleed the power steering system. For additional information, refer to Section  211-00 Steering System - General Information.
