Engine System - General Information - Bearing Inspection Transit 2000.5 (01/2000-05/2006)
General Procedures
  1. Inspect bearings for the following defects.
    1. Cratering - fatigue failure
    1. Spot polishing - incorrect seating.
    1. Imbedded dirt engine oil.
    1. Scratching - dirty engine oil.
    1. Base exposed - poor lubrication.
    1. Both edges worn - journal damaged.
    1. One edge worn - journal tapered or bearing not seated.
