Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.
  1. Drain the brake fluid reservoir.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Cap the clutch master cylinder supply hose to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the supply hose from the brake fluid reservoir.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Cap the clutch master cylinder to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.
    Disconnect the clutch slave cylinder supply line from the clutch master cylinder.
    • Remove the clip.
    • Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

  1. Detach the clutch master cylinder actuating rod from the clutch pedal.
    • Remove the washer and the clip.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The clutch master cylinder has to be removed from the engine side.
    Detach the clutch master cylinder from the retaining bracket, turn the clutch master cylinder counterclockwise (pedal box shown from the vehicle interior side for clarity).

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Bleed the clutch system.
