Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Evacuate the refrigeration system. For additional information, refer to Section  412-00 Climate Control System - General Information.
  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.
Vehicles with 2.4L diesel engine
  1. Raise the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
All vehicles

  1. Disconnect the clutch connector.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Support the refrigeration system compressor before removing the bolts and secure it to prevent loading of the refrigerant lines.
    Detach the refrigeration system compressor from the mounting bracket.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Seal off the refrigerant lines and the refrigeration system compressor to prevent dirt ingress.
    Detach the refrigerant lines and remove the refrigeration system compressor.
    • Discard the O-rings.

Installation

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Install new refrigerant line O-rings.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Coat the refrigerant line O-rings with clean refrigerant oil prior to installation.
    Install the components in the reverse order.
