Removal and Installation

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Remove the battery.
    For additional information, refer to Battery in this section.
  1. Remove the driver seat. For additional information, refer to Section  501-10 Seating.
Vehicles with 2.4L diesel engine
  1. Remove the intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Section  303-01A Engine / 303-01B Engine / 303-01C Engine.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the parking brake control retaining bolts.

  1. Detach the floor covering and remove the seat pedestal retaining bolts.

  1. Detach the floor covering and remove the battery to jump start point cable retaining screws.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Do not apply excessive force to the seat pedestal.
    Detach the battery to jump start point cable from the seat pedestal.

  1. Detach the floor covering and detach the battery to jump start point cable from the retaining clips.

  1. Remove the jump start point cover.

  1. Disconnect the battery to jump start point cable from the jump start point.

  1. Detach the battery to jump start point cable from the retaining clip.

  1. Detach the battery to jump start point cable from the retaining clip.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The battery to jump start point cable is routed through a rubber grommet in the bulkhead.
    Remove the battery to jump start point cable.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
