Shorted fuel pump
Disconnect C-412 near the fuel pump and install an ammeter in series with the pump in Circuit 787 (PK/BK). If the current exceeds 8 amps, the pump is
shorted and must be replaced. Do not replace the pump if the ammeter reads less than 8 amps.
If a wiring short is found, repair as outlined in Section 18-01 of the appropriate Windstar Service Manual and return the vehicle to the customer.

If no short is found, go to next Section.

If the fuel pump is the cause of the short, replace the fuel pump and go to the next Section, Step 4.
