Windstar V6-3.8L VIN 4 (1997)
2. Align both attaching bolts in the front seat shoulder strap adjuster to the weld nuts in the upper pillar reinforcement.
3. Hand-start the top attaching bolt and tighten until it is snug.
4. Hand-start the bottom attaching bolt and tighten until it is snug.
5. Tighten the top and bottom front seat shoulder strap adjuster bolts to 34-46 Nm (25-33 lb ft).
6. Install the body pillar inside upper finish panel.
NOTE: knob must be able to travel from top to bottom of slot in the B-pillar upper finish panel.
7. Function the adjuster knob by squeezing the release button and sliding the front seat shoulder strap adjuster up and down.
8. Position the front safety belt guide to the front seat shoulder strap adjuster. Install the front safety belt guide hex flange retaining nut on the front
seat shoulder strap adjuster stud. Tighten to 34-46 Nm (25-33 lb ft).
9. Check to see that the front safety belt guide rotates freely after installation.
10. Install the front seat shoulder strap guide cover over the front safety belt guide hex flange retaining nut and snap it into place.
11. Position the front seat shoulder strap adjuster knob in the uppermost position.
12. Check the restraint system for proper operation and perform Functional System Test.
