Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
Removal

1.
Raise and support rear of vehicle.
2.
Remove wheels, then brake hubs and drums.
3.
Remove return spring and auto adjuster spring.
4.
Remove leading shoe hold-down spring and pin, Fig. 1.
5.
Remove leading shoe and auto adjuster.
6.
Remove trailing shoe hold-down spring and pin, then shoe.
7.
Disconnect parking brake cable from lever, then remove trailing shoe.
8.
Remove parking brake lever from trailing shoe.
