Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove right and left undercovers, then the oil pan as described in OIL PAN.

3.

Remove transaxle as described in TRANSMISSIONS CLUTCHES DIFFERENTIALS AXLES AND DRIVE SHAFTS/MANUAL
TRANSAXLE/COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES/TRANSAXLE.

4.

Mark flywheel and engine position for installation reference, then remove flywheel.

5.

Remove flywheel spacer and rear main seal retainer.

6.

Remove rear main seal from retainer, Fig. 32.

7.

Reverse procedure to install.
