Camshaft: Service and Repair

1.

Remove cylinder head by referring to CYLINDER HEAD for procedure.

2.

Remove distributor gear case, intake and exhaust manifold from cylinder head.

3.

Remove camshaft timing belt pulley and timing belt inside cover.

4.

Remove rocker arms, springs and rocker arm shafts. Refer to ROCKER ARM & SHAFT for removal procedure.

5.

Remove camshaft from cylinder head.

6.

Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a.

Apply engine oil to lobs and journals.

b.

Install a new camshaft end seal.
