Malfunction Lamp / Indicator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: The AIR BAG warning lamp consists of a Light Emitting Diode (LED) that is not serviceable.
The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) must be serviced as a complete unit.
1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disable the SIR System. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.
3. Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
2. Enable the SIR system.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. The AIR BAG warning lamp should flash seven times then turn OFF.
4. If the AIR BAG warning lamp stays ON after flashing seven times, perform the Diagnostic System Check - SIR. Refer to A Diagnostic System
