Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Pan Replacement
Removal Procedure
Important: Do not raise the engine by the crankshaft balancer to perform this service procedure. Damage to the crankshaft balancer or the crankshaft
may occur.
1. Drain the engine oil.
2. Remove the oil level indicator tube.
3. Remove the starter motor.
4. Remove the catalytic converter.
5. Remove the torque converter cover bolts.
6. Remove the torque converter cover.
7. Remove the battery cable ground bolt at the lower front of the engine block.
8. Reposition the cable.
9. Remove the transmission oil cooler line bracket bolt.
10. Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.
11. Reposition the knock sensor harness.
