Stabilizer Link: Service and Repair
Rear
C/K 3s Except C 3500 HD
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the following parts from the stabilizer links:

The upper nuts
^
The washers
^
The bolts
3. Remove the bolts from the clamp insulators.
4. Remove the nuts and bolts from the stabilizer bracket to the frame.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the nuts and the bolts to the stabilizer bracket and the frame.
^
Tighten the nuts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the bolts to the insulators and the clamps.
^
Tighten the bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the nuts, the washers, and the bolts to the stabilizer links.
^
Tighten the nuts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
C 3500 HD, Only
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the nuts.
3. Remove the insulators.
4. Remove the bolts from the spacer and the stabilizer shaft.
5. Remove the nuts from the U-bolts.
6. Remove the following parts:

The U-bolts
^
The clamps
^
The insulators
7. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the stabilizer shaft to the rear axle.
2. Install the following parts:
^
The insulators
^
The clamps
^
The U-bolt
3. Install the nuts to the U-bolt.
^
Tighten the nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the bolts through the following parts:
^
The insulators
^
The stabilizer shaft
^
The spacers
5. Install the nuts.
^
Tighten the nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.)
