NOTICE: All camshaft journals are the same diameter, so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the
camshaft bearings.

25. Remove the engine camshaft. Refer to Camshaft Removal
26. Inspect all parts for wear. Refer to Camshaft and Bearings Clean and Inspect
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the camshaft. Refer to Camshaft Installation.
2. Install the components removed from the front of the engine. Refer to Timing Chain and Sprockets Replacement
3. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement.
4. Install the A/C condenser, if equipped. Refer to Condenser Replacement.
5. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement.
6. Install the hood latch bracket. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement (Primary).
7. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Grille Replacement (Luxury).
8. Install the engine cooling fan and the upper fan shroud. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement.
9. Connect the battery negative cable.
10. Recharge the air conditioning system, if equipped. Refer to Recharging the Refrigerant System in Heating and Air Conditioning.
11. Fill the engine with the proper type and quantity of engine oil.
12. Replace the engine oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement.
