REMOVAL PROCEDURE

J 3049-A Valve Lifter Remover
1. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement (Lower).
IMPORTANT: The valve lifters; and valve guides must be installed in the same location from which the valve lifter and valve guides were
removed.
2. Remove the valve pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement.
3. Remove the valve lifter guide retainer.
