Differential Axle Housing: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
The axle vent hose is located on the axle carrier on 8 1/2, 8 5/8, and 9 1/2 inch ring gear axles.
1. Remove the vent clamp bolt from the brake bracket.
2. Remove the vent clamp from the brake bracket.
3. Remove the vent assembly from the vent hose.
4. Remove the vent clamp from the vent hose.
5. Remove the vent clamp bolt from the vent hose clamp and brake junction block.
