Thermostat Housing: Service and Repair

Water Outlet Housing Replacement (With LLV - 2.9L and LLR - 3.7L)

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling

(Vac N Fill) (See: Service and Repair).

2. Position the J 38185 to the clamp (8) in order to remove the radiator outlet hose (7) from the water outlet housing.
3. Remove the power steering pump bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power

Steering/Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair).

4. Remove the water outlet housing bolts.
5. Remove the water outlet housing from the cylinder head.
6. Clean and inspect the water outlet housing.
7. Clean and inspect the sealing surface of the cylinder head.
