GMC Workshop Service and Repair Manuals

1. Install the crankshaft balancer friction washer to the end of the crankshaft balancer.

Important: Remove the original bolt from the J 41478 and use a M16 x 2.0 x 165 mm bolt.

2. Install the crankshaft balancer using the J 41478.
3. Remove the J 41478.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the crankshaft balancer washer and NEW bolt.

Tighten the bolt to 150 N.m (111 lb ft) plus an additional 180 degrees using the J 45059.

5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
