Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Installation Procedure

1. Install the SDM (2) to the vehicle (3).
2. Install the SDM mounting fasteners (1). 

Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the SDM harness connector to the SDM.
4. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the SDM harness connector.
5. Position the carpet to cover the inflatable restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM).

Important:  Install the left body side trim panel for extended cab pickup.

6. Install the LH Kick Panel.
7. Install the floor console (if equipped). Refer to the following procedures in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console:

Console Replacement - Front Floor (Non-Full Length).

Console Replacement - Front Floor (Full Length (Auto Trans)).

^

Console Replacement - Front Floor (Full Length (Manual Trans)).

^

Console Replacement - Front Floor (Full Length (Envoy)).

8. Install the carpet retaining sill trim molding - LH, Refer to Sill Trim Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
9. Install driver seat belt to floor. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Driver. See: Restraint Systems/Seat Belt Systems

10. Install the driver seat. Refer to the following procedures in Seats:

Seat Replacement (Bucket).

Seat Replacement (Bench).

^

Seat Replacement (Jump Seat).

11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System.
